Septic Design, Installation, and Inspection
We can assist with the design of a septic tank system. Not all installations are identical because not all properties are identical. We can assist with designing the right system that fits your situation, whether that be a 3 bedroom residential home, or a thriving restaurant. And design a system that fits your property for space and slope. It is critical that the correct system be designed first, and then installed to minimize failure at a later date. Or if your system has signs of failure and needs to be replaced, this is an investment in your property that you will want to ensure is correctly done. And that there is a plan for regular routine maintenance in the future. A correctly installed system can last for 15 to 20 years. But design, installation and maintenance are key to giving it that longevity.
Not only are there regulations in New Hampshire as to the installation of septic tank systems, there are quite a few systems available. And each system is unique in what it is best used for, depending on different factors such as space, slope, and load. Before you decide to do an installation yourself, it is in your best interest to have an expert help you choose. We can provide you guidance and assistance so that your investment is a sound one.
We also offer inspection services for your current septic tank system. We will take a look at the tank itself and check for any cracks or leaks. We will check the level of sewage in the tank. We will check the condition of the baffles, both inlet and outlet. And check for an effluent filter. We will test the flow and monitor the leaching field for any signs of issues. We will inform you of the overall process that we will do and give you the results with explanation of deficiencies that may have been located. This service offers some peace of mind to home owners and businesses, providing opportunity to take proactive action when needed to minimize the effect of a potential failure of the overall system or components of it.
Routine Septic Pumping and Maintenance
We offer routine pumping and cleaning of septic, grease and other holding tanks. Serving both residential and commercial needs.
For septic tanks, in particular, pumping out the tank is required at regular intervals. The intervals will vary depending on the size of the home or occupancy. For a large family, the tank should be pumped out each year. Smaller families can delay having that done for 2 to 3 years. But all septic tanks should at the very least be pumped at least every 4 years. Again, depending on the occupancy, this should be done more frequently.
When the tank is pumped, it will remove the settled solids that will build up over time in the bottom of the tank. This needs to be removed to accommodate space in the tank to function effectively and safely. No one wants any sewer backup or damage to the leaching field. The costs of fixing a system is much greater then routine pumping and cleaning. Also, routine maintenance protects the environment from contaminated leakage.
While the tank is being pumped, repairs can also be done at the same time. This includes repair or replacing baffles, cleaning or installation of filters, and minor pipe repairs. You may also want to consider having a riser installed at this time. This will save you on digging costs from future maintenance servicing.
We cannot stress enough that preventative maintenance is essential in keeping your septic tank system functioning correctly and avoiding expensive repairs later. At the first sign or signal of system failure, please reach out to us as soon as possible. We can assess the situation quickly and, hopefully be able to offer a less expensive option to remedy it.
